Mitchum's is the showcase for Chef Sean Foley's elegant archetypal steakhouse cuisine, from six richly flavorful cuts of meat to crisp pommes frites to sautéed sides, created from organic produce harvested at nearby Local Farms. No less mouthwatering is the seafood, starring Chesapeake Bay soft-shell crabs, jumbo-lump crab cakes, and oysters, available according to the calendar.

A graceful study in cool white linen and warm mahogany, the restaurant evokes the masculine sophistication of its strapping Hollywood namesake, Robert Mitchum, who lived on a local farm for eleven years. His classic black and white filmscomplete with curvy starlets and subtitlessilently play above the sweeping bar.

An equally fabulous lunch menu is available at Mitchum’s casual market and café, adjacent to the steakhouse.
